Where MonStr is heading
MonStr is moving from recording what has already happened towards warning you about what is about to. Below are the directions we are working on: technology, functionality, usability and the product’s place in the market.
This describes the direction of development, not a list of commitments with dates. Scope and timing may change as the product evolves.
Technology: from recording to predicting
AI and computer vision
The phone camera will analyse the image in real time and prompt the engineer about likely defects — deviations from level, cracks, materials that do not match the spec.
Photo report analysis
Automatic checks on whether the photos closing a snag are complete and good enough — saving the manager time and cutting the number of rejections.
Predictive analytics
Analysing accumulated data to predict the typical mistakes a given contractor makes at a given stage, and recommending tighter control in advance.
Benchmarking
Comparing quality and snag-closing speed across sites and contractors.
IoT and sensor integration
Reading sensor data — concrete temperature, humidity, settlement — and raising snags automatically when values move outside the allowed range.
Functionality and ecosystem
Linking to the 3D model
Snags will attach not just to a plan but to a specific element of the BIM model — rebar, a node, a piece of equipment. That gives a full history of the asset across its whole lifecycle.
BIM model viewer
A built-in viewer for lightweight BIM models inside the app, so you can check against the design without third-party software.
Work orders module
Deeper automation of assigning work to crews, tracking hours and writing off materials — straight from the snag.
Safety module
Recording health-and-safety breaches with immediate notification of the people responsible.
Ratings and motivation
Ratings for site managers and contractors, with rewards for closing snags quickly and properly.
Ease of use
An even simpler interface
Fewer clicks, voice input for notes, and augmented reality to overlay the design documents onto the real structure.
Extended offline work
Working with heavy data — model fragments, for example — where there is no signal at all.
Personalisation
Configurable dashboards for different roles: QA engineer, site manager, project director.
Strategy
MonStr as an industry standard
We are taking the product beyond the CDS group and offering it to developers and construction companies on the open market.
A partner network
Integrations with the popular ERP and CRM systems already used in construction.
