Functional capabilities of the MonStr software
Working with construction sites
- Creating an unlimited number of projects with any number of elements — the system allows an unlimited number of construction sites to be created. Each project is configured with as many elements (sections, floors and so on) as required.
- Showing the number of snags as colour indicators — the number of snags is shown as colour indicators next to the name of the site and of each structural element. Snag statuses: “Open” (red), “Done” (yellow), “Verified” (green).
- Attaching design and working documentation to structural elements — a PDF drawing can be linked to any element of the project structure. Snags can be raised both from a structural element and directly from the working documentation.
- Assigning participants per project — participants are assigned per project: that is, a list of staff assigned to particular roles who have access to that specific project.
- Collecting snag analytics per project — reports on snag counts, and ratings of assignees and authors, are collected per project and can be broken down to the level of an individual structural element.
- Assigning an attribute to an element (section, floor) for integration into completion certificates in an ERP system — where an integration attribute is assigned to a structural element, snag data can be sent to an external system.
Recording snags against work in progress
- Creating snags on a drawing or a structural element — snags about construction quality are raised either through a structural element (section, floor), without a link to a drawing, or through the design documentation (drawing) with a link to a specific location.
- Filling in the name and description manually or selecting from the standards reference book — the “Description” and “Name” fields are mandatory in the snag record. They can be filled in manually or selected from the standards reference book, in which case the reference to the building code pulls in the description.
- Moving along the workflow route — status transitions are made by the people responsible for their area, from the snag record or from the list.
- Uploading photos from the gallery — photos can be uploaded from the gallery of a mobile phone or a personal computer.
- Selecting a subcontractor to close out an instruction — snags can be assigned both to in-house staff and to employees of a subcontractor.
- Taking photos from the app — a defect can be photographed directly from the mobile phone, inside the snag record in the app.
- Recording volumes to be withheld — a volume of work to be withheld can be recorded against any snag. If the snag is not closed on time, those volumes can be integrated into the completion certificate in an ERP system.
- Selecting the category and type of construction work — the snag record allows a work category to be selected (for example, general construction works) together with lower levels — the specific types of work.
- Assigning an index and reference number for the inspection sheet — the quality control department assigns an index and a reference number for identification when producing an inspection sheet.
- Reopening snags — any snag can be reopened if it was closed incorrectly. The “Reopened” attribute is then set on the snag automatically.
Working with the snag list
- Uploadable standards reference books — the standards reference book is prepared in Excel format and uploaded into the admin panel. Its entries then become available for selection in the “Name” and “Description” fields of the snag record.
- Filtering — the system provides configurable, fast filtering by various attributes (author, assignee, dates of creation, closure and reopening, snag status and so on).
- Bulk rescheduling, closing and adding snags to printable forms — several snags can be selected in the list in order to perform common actions on them (rescheduling, moving to another status).
- Changing the person responsible for closing a snag — the assignee can be changed in the snag record at any time.
- Exporting snags into an instruction form — every snag can be exported into a printable Word form to be issued to the contractor.
- Archiving snags — a snag created in error can be moved to the archive if required.
- Exporting printable forms: “Instruction” and “Snag report”.
Working with drawings
- Colour markers for snags — every snag is given a colour indicator based on its status. Snags that require no action are shown in light blue.
- Previewing the snag record from the drawing — all key information is shown in a preview without opening the full snag record.
- Copying snags — a typical snag can be copied, both within a drawing and by moving it to another structural element or drawing.
- Photo evidence of construction quality breaches — photos of a breach can be previewed through the site drawing.
- Moving markers on the drawing — markers can be moved to any position on the drawing.
- Drawing shapes on the drawing — the system provides a full set of drawing tools.
- Zooming.
- Showing individual drawing layers — drawing layers can be turned on and off, and personal visibility settings can be saved.
- Moving between markers by creation date — markers can be stepped through by snag creation date, which makes finding items on drawings easier.
Reporting
- Weekly export of the snag dynamics report per site — an analytical report that collects the dynamics for a configurable reporting period, per company and project, for in-house work.
- Reports on work performed by subcontractor staff — an analytical report that collects the dynamics for a configurable reporting period, per company and project, for subcontractors.
- Exporting a snag list using any configured filter — any snag list, filtered as required, can be exported into a printable report form.
- Exporting instructions using templates configured per company — printable instruction forms have legal force, and several report templates are configured for export in Word and Excel formats.
Admin panel
- Creating and assigning roles and rights — the system provides an extensive list of rights that can be assigned to any role. New roles can also be created and rights assigned to them.
- Maintaining the “Standards”, “Organisations” and other reference books — all system reference books are located in the admin panel. They are integrated from external systems, uploaded from files or filled in manually.
- Configuring integrations — data import and export.
- User action history — all user actions are logged and recorded in the admin panel. System logs are also stored and shown in the admin panel. All events can be exported into a printable form.
- Configuring and exporting reporting — report exports are configured through the admin panel.
- Producing inspection sheets — mapping settings for sites, indexes and types of work used in the inspection sheet and the snag record are configured in the admin panel.
- Flexible platform settings (notifications) — all notifications (push, email) are configured per event, and settings can be personal.
